2021 - 2022
Since November 2021, my colleague, Lily Dollner and I have conducted extensive research on the northern beaches of Groningen province.
We visited the island of Schiermonnikoog three times. During our stay, we cast the subtle nature-made structures left by the sea in the sand. This action opened up a conversation on the domestication and classification of nature and the problematic anthropocentric byproducts of such practice.
The beach, besides being a wonderful texture library, also offers a vast open space, which presents tremendous potential for new inspiration.
The excerpts from the beaches of potentiality were captured on analogue cameras.
